Our Vermeer SC1102 is by far our most powerful machine and it does a great job at removing really big stumps, really fast.
It has a left to right sweep of over 7 feet wide.
It has a huge chip containment area that helps keep 95% of the wood chips contained under the machine.
It can reach a maximum depth of 24 inches. An average grinder generally grinds to a depth of 12 to 15 inches, so if you need to replant a tree with a large root ball, few machines will do the job as well.
This is a tow behind stump grinder which means we move and position it with a 4x4 truck. It will need an open area in which to maneuver.
Every stump grinder on the market, will leave behind a pile of wood chips (which we call debris). The deeper and wider that we grind, the larger that pile will become.
This is a grind-and-go service. It costs less because we do not rake the wood chips (debris) back over the hole when we are done.
For those wanting to grow grass, the wood chips in the debris will tend to steal nitrogen from the soil, making the wood chips unsuitable for growing grass. The pile of debris will slowly decompose over 3 or more years.
For quicker results it is best to remove the top 3 inches of the pile of debris and replace it with 3 or more inches of top soil.
We offer a debris removal service as an additional service.
